“I have seen mailers from supporters describing gas as clean and affordable. Nothing in Amendment 82 makes gas any cleaner, or any more affordable, and as a doctor I can tell you that the pollution from fracking and burning methane indoors does not change because a right is written into the constitution. Nothing in it requires any company to lower prices either. The mailers also call this a matter of choice, but Coloradans can already cook and heat with gas, and a no vote leaves that in place. What the amendment would actually change is the ability of our communities to keep pollution away from the places where our children live and learn, and it would lock profits for corporate polluters into our constitution forever. I hope you will join me in voting no on Amendment 82.”
